Danuta Hübner

Professor of economics, Member of the European Parliament

In 1994 became an advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and, from 1994 to 1996, served as the Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade. As chief negotiator, facilitated Poland’s entry into the OECD in 1996. From 1997 to 1998, served as Head of the Chancellery of the President of Poland.
Since 2009, Member of the European Parliament, Chairman of numerous Committees. Member of the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with the United States, and the Delegation for Relations with Switzerland, Iceland, Norway and to the EEA Joint Parliamentary Committee.
Nominated as the first Minister for European Affairs in the Polish government, as well as the first Polish EU Commissioner. Highly experienced in international institutions, worked for the United Nations as Undersecretary General.
