Ambassador of Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Poland
Graduated with a B.A in arts (Russian, Eastern European Studies and Political Science) at the University of Uppsala. From 1981-1982 he worked as a political advisor to Deputy Prime Minister Ola Ullsten. After leaving this position he worked in journalism for a number of years before becoming the Head of Office for the Parliament Group for the Liberal Party. In 1991 he became State Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office the coordination of the Liberal Party under Deputy Prime Minister Bengt Westerberg. Mr Herrström then became Deputy Director General for the development agency SIDA until he was appointed Ambassador of Sweden to Tanzania in 2007. He assumed the role of Ambassador of Sweden to Vietnam in 2010 before becoming Ambassador of Sweden to Poland in September 2011.
