The Road to Warsaw Security Forum (#Road2WSF) was a series of online webinars which took place on 17-18th November 2020 and was co-organized by the Casimir Pulaski Foundation and the German Marshall Fund of the United States. The sessions involved a variety of distinguished guests from across the world and covered a broad range of topics related to NATO, the European Union, transatlantic cooperation and threats to liberal democratic values.

The second day of the Road to Warsaw Security Forum (#Road2WSF) commenced with an introduction from Katarzyna Pisarska (Program Director of the Warsaw Security Forum) providing an overview of the schedule.

| CONVERSATION WITH SPECIAL GUEST: Mircea Geoană |

The first session consisted of a conversation between Mircea Geoană (Deputy Secretary General of NATO) and Kristine Berzina (Senior Fellow of the Alliance for Securing Democracy at the German Marshall Fund of the United States). The session primarily focused on how NATO member states have dealt with the COVID-19 crisis and the future role of the Alliance.

| HIGH-LEVEL PANEL ON TRANSATLANTIC SECURITY: Securing NATO’s Significance in the Changing World Order |

The first panel discussion of the day was titled “Securing NATO’s Significance in the Changing World Order”. The panelists were Gen. Rajmund Andrzejczak (Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces), Baiba Braže (Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy at NATO), Lt. Gen. (R) Benjamin “Ben” Hodges (Pershing Chair in Strategic Studies at CEPA and Commanding General of U.S. Army Europe 2014-2017) and Tone Skogen (State Secretary, Ministry of Defense of Norway). This discussion was moderated by Michał Baranowski (Director of the German Marshall Fund of the United States’ Warsaw office) and covered a range of topics relating to transatlantic security and contemporary challenges faced by NATO.

The final panel discussion of the Road to Warsaw Security Forum was “The United States Foreign Policy beyond 2020 – Change or Continuity?” Michael Carpenter (Managing Director of the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement), Marcy Kaptur (Member of the U.S. House of Representatives and Co-Chair of the Poland Caucus, Ukraine Caucus, and Hungary Caucus) and David Petraeus (Director of the Central Intelligence Agency 2011-2012 and Commander of the International Security Assistance Force 2010-2011) took part in this discussion which was moderated by Ali Aslan (International TV Presenter and Journalist). Key topics of this session included relations between the U.S.-Europe relations and what to expect from a Biden administration.
