Ambassador to Italy, State Secretary in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (2016-2019), Poland
Anna Maria Anders has been the Ambassador of Poland to Italy since August 2019. She also serves as the representative of Poland in the Women Political Leaders forum. Prior to her appointment as Ambassador, she was a Senator in the Polish Senate from 2016 to 2019. During that time, she acted as the State Secretary for the Plenipotentiary of the Prime Minister of Poland for International Dialogue. She also held the position of Chairman of the Council for the Protection of Struggle and Martyrdom Sites of Poland. Prior to her election as senator, Ms. Anders served as the President of the General Władysław Anders Foundation from 2014 to 2016. She was also a Press Officer for UNESCO from 1978 to 1980. Ms. Anders has a bachelor’s degree in Romance Languages from the University of Bristol and a MBA from Boston University. She speaks six languages and has received the Gold Cross of Merit of Republic of Poland as well as other military honors due to her advocacy of military and veterans’ issues during her tenure as Senator.
