Ambassador Tomasz Marek Chłoń served in Polish diplomatic missions in Finland and at NATO. He was Ambassador of Poland to Estonia and Slovakia. He has held various posts in the Foreign Ministry, such as Director of the UN Department and Chief of Staff of the Minister’s Office. He was Director of the NATO Warsaw 2016 Summit Host Nation Task Force. In 2017-2020, he served as Director of the NATO Information Office in Moscow, heading it from the NATO HQ in Brussels. He specialises in international security policy, Central Europe and Russia. Throughout his career, he has spoken at numerous security policy conferences and seminars. He has published articles in Finnish, Estonian, Slovak, Polish and international press. His published studies include “Finland’s Way to the European Union” (1997), “Russia Closer to NATO” (2002) and “Poland’s Contribution to UN Reform and Political Presence in the Organisation” (2005). He co-authored a “Counter-Disinformation Education and Research Platform – Building Social Resilience” book (2021), and continues to develop this initiative together with scholars from Poland’s top universities. He graduated from the University of Warsaw with a degree in Hungarian Philology. He also holds postgraduate diplomas in international relations and European integration (Polish Institute of International Relations, University of Maastricht, University of Warsaw).
