Hélène Conway-Mouret has been the senator representing French citizens living abroad since 2011. During this period, she was also Minister Delegate for Foreign Affairs from 2012 to 2014. In 2014, she became vice-president of the Delegation for Women's Rights and Equal Opportunities between Men and Women of the Senate. In 2017, she was re-elected as a senator and became vice president of the Commission on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed forces Committee (CAED), and is currently secretary of the CAED. She is also Vice President of the Senate from 2018 to 2020. Hélène Conway-Mouret has been a member of the Socialist Party since 1997 and of the Party of European Socialists. She was Professor in charge of the Department of Languages at Technical University Dublin (TUD) from 1997 to 2010. Hélène Conway-Mouret is also Director of of Internation affairs at Jean Jaurès Foundation and a member of the Executive Committee Jean Monnet Foundation for Europe and Maison de l'Europe.
