Krzysztof Kamil Gawkowski, born on 11 April 1980, is a Polish politician and writer, serving as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs since December 2023. He is associated with the Democratic Left Alliance and Spring and led The Left's parliamentary club from 2019 to 2023. A member of the Sejm since 2019, Gawkowski has a background in law from the University of Warsaw and political studies from the University of Communication and Social Media in Warsaw. He began his political career in the 1990s, joining the Democratic Left Alliance and serving as a councillor in Wołomin and later at the Masovian Regional Assembly. In 2019, he joined forces with Robert Biedroń's Spring party and was elected to the Sejm. In 2023, Gawkowski was re-elected and appointed to his current government positions by Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
