Ieva Ilves has over two decades of experience in public policy, with a focus on foreign affairs, security, digital transformation, and cybersecurity. Her career spans roles in the Latvian government, NATO, and the EU. Key positions have included: Advisor on Digital Policy to the President of Latvia, Head of National Cybersecurity Policy Division at the Ministry of Defence of Latvia, Political Advisor to the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus in Azerbaijan, Representative of the Latvian Ministry of Defence to NATO. Ieva led the establishment of the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence in Riga and developed Latvia's first national cybersecurity strategy. She has also worked on projects supporting democratic movements in Eastern Europe - Belarus. Currently, Ieva advises Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation and the cybersecurity company WithSecure. In 2023 she worked as an Advisor to the EU Advisory Mission in Ukraine. Ieva Ilves is involved in initiatives promoting digital skills and women in tech, including the Women4Cyber movement in Latvia and the peer learning project "StartSchool".
