Dr. Miro Kovač has been the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Croatian Parliament since November 2016. He served before as Croatia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and his country’s Ambassador to Germany.
Born on September 20, 1968 in Split, Miro Kovač earned, amongst others, a PhD in History of
International Relations from the Sorbonne Nouvelle University (Paris III).
He is member of the Croatian Democratic Union and was elected to Parliament for the first time in 2015. In 2016 he was reelected to the Croatian Parliament where he currently holds the office of Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee. He is also member of several other parliamentary bodies: the European Affairs Committee, the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee and the Croatian Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO.
Since November 2018 he has been Chairman of the NATO PA Subcommittee on NATO Partnerships.
