Dr. Oleksii Riabchyn is a Ukrainian energy and climate professional with a successful career in green business, policy and politics.

He is an Energy and EU Green deal Advisor to Deputy Prime-Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olga Stefanishyna and research fellow at the Kyiv School of Economics.

He worked as the Low Carbon Business Development Advisor to CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine in 2021-22, responsible for the development of new green businesses and decarbonisation of existing assets, as well as for the implementation of best practices of sustainable development and EGS policies.

He served as a Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukrainein 2019-20 responsible for the energy-efficiency, innovation, EU Green Deal alignment and carbon pricing.

Dr.Riabchyn was a Member of Ukrainian Parliament 2014-2019. He was a chair of the Subcommittee on Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency of the Energy Committee. He championed initiatives supporting e-mobility, renewable energy and those focused on creating an energy efficiency market in Ukraine.

Dr. Oleksii Riabchyn represented Ukraine in Conferences of the Parties to the UNFCCC in Paris, Marrakesh, Bonn, Katowice, Madrid, Glasgow and Sharm-el-Sheikh.

He received his PhD in Economics at Donetsk National University and MSc in Innovation and Sustainability for International Development at SPRU, University of Sussex, UK.
