Mehdi is from Muzeqine, a small village in south-eastern Kosovo. He studied Political Science and International Relations in Istanbul, Turkey and Heidelberg, Germany. He worked in different research institutions in Germany and Kosovo. Those include the Institute for Political Science Heidelberg, European Forum for Migration Studies in Bamberg, Balkan Policy Research Group, in Pristina and currently he is working as a research fellow in the Group for Legal and Political Studies in Pristina, Kosovo. His research interests include political parties, migration, foreign policy and Europeanisation. Mehdi believes that Ajvar should belong to the whole region and not only one nation.
