Pekka Juhani Toveri, born in Kankaanpää, is a Finnish Member of Parliament and Major General EVP. He had a distinguished career in the Finnish Defense Forces from 1985 to 2020. After his military service, he worked as an affiliated researcher at the Foreign Policy Institute and engaged in various other activities.

Toveri's political journey continued as he was elected as a Member of Parliament in the 2023 parliamentary elections, representing the Uusimaa constituency on the coalition party's list.

Education-wise, Toveri graduated from Helsinki Normal High School in 1980. He completed his conscript service in the Uusimaa Jääkär Battalion from 1981 to 1982 and attended Cadet School from 1982 to 1985. Throughout his career, he held several key positions, including the head of the Armored School, commander of the Armored Brigade, commander of the Western Finland military county, commander of the Kaartin Jääkärirykment, and Finland's defense representative to the United States and Canada. Notably, he served as the Chief of Intelligence of the General Staff until his resignation from permanent service at the end of 2020.

Toveri is currently married to a lieutenant colonel of the US Air Force from Florida, who works at the US Embassy in Helsinki. He has two sons and a daughter from his previous marriage. Toveri resides in Tuusula.
