WSF2015 Speaker: Alexandr Vondra former Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic

The Organizing Committee of the WSF is proud to announce that Alexandr Vondra former Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic will be a speaker at the Warsaw Security Forum 2015.

Alexandr Vondra was the first deputy of Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Czech Republic. He has held many distinguished positions within the Czech government such as senator, minister of defence and deputy minister for European Affairs. In 1989 he co-founded the Civic Forum political movement that resulted in Czechoslovakia’s first democratic elections. From 1990-1992 he was the foreign policy advisor to the President where he played an important role in the establishment of the Visegrad Group. From 1997 to 2001 Vondra served as the Czech Ambassador to the United States and was also the chief organizer of the NATO Prague Summit in 2002. Since leaving politics he has devoted his time to teaching, publishing and is involved with various political councils and organizations. Vondra has also been the recipient of numerous international awards including the Medal of Merit that was awarded by the NATO Secretary General.

WSF Weimar Triangle Parliamentary Delegation Visit to Washington D.C.
