Alexandre Ziegler

Executive Vice President, Defense Division of Safran Electronics & Defense

Alexandre Ziegler began his career in 1997 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as an Advisor in the Strategic and Security Affairs Directorate.

Between 2000 and 2010, he successively held the positions of Deputy Consul General in Hong Kong, First Secretary and then Second Counselor at the Embassy in Berlin, and finally Cultural and Cooperation Counselor in Beijing. He was then appointed Head of the Programs and Network Department at the Directorate-General for Globalization, Development, and Partnerships at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs until 2012, when he was called to join the office of the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs. In June 2013, he was appointed Chief of Staff to the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He served as the French Ambassador to India from 2016 until he joined Safran in 2019.

Alexandre Ziegler holds an agrégation in history and is a graduate of the École Normale Supérieure (Lettres et Sciences humaines, 1992), Sciences Po Paris (1993), and the École Nationale d’Administration (Marc Bloch class, 1995–1997).
