Ieva Ilves has over two decades of experience in public policy, with a focus on security policy, digital resilience and cybersecurity in the Latvian Government.
She served as the Advisor to the President of Latvia, Head of National Cybersecurity Policy at the Ministry of Defence, Political Advisor to the EUSR for the South Caucasus in Azerbaijan, and Representative of the Latvian MoD to NATO. Ieva chaired the work on Latvia's first national cybersecurity strategy and led the establishment of the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence in Riga.
Currently, Ieva Ilves advises Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation, the cybersecurity company WithSecure and leads the cybersecurity education program in Riga. She worked as an Advisor to the EU Advisory Mission in Ukraine after the Russian full-scale invasion. She is the co-founder of the Women4Cyber chapter in Latvia and the peer learning educational school StartSchool. She is the former First Lady of Estonia. Ieva Ilves holds a MIPP from Johns Hopkins University SAIS.
