Maj Gen Krzysztof Kociuba

Chief of Staff, NATO Communications and Information Agency

Major General Krzysztof Kociuba is the Chief of Staff of the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA), appointed in March 2025. He oversees headquarters coordination and staff functions.

Before NCIA, he served as NATO Deputy Chief Information Officer (2021–2025), advancing Digital Transformation, data exploitation, and cybersecurity policy. He chaired the NATO Information Management Authority and expanded the CIO Office’s scope. Previously, he was Counselor Coordinator at the Polish National Security Cyberspace Centre and Deputy Commander of the 9th Command Support Brigade. Promoted to Major General in 2021, he earlier held senior roles in the Polish Armed Forces, including Deputy Chief of CIS and DACOS J6 at MNCNE, managing communication strategies and planning.

Kociuba began his military career in 1992, progressing through leadership positions in signal and command support units, with deployments in Afghanistan (ISAF) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (SFOR). He holds engineering and master’s degrees in telecommunications and national resource strategy, with further studies in crisis management and logistics. His decorations include national defense and long service medals, as well as NATO SFOR and ISAF medals, the Star of Afghanistan, and the Military Cross of Merit with Swords.
