Torsten Schack Pedersen

Minister for Resilience and Preparedness, Denmark

Torsten Schack Pedersen (born 26 June 1976) is a Danish politician for the Liberal Party (Venstre) and has been a member of the Folketing since 2005. He represents the North Jutland Greater Constituency and has been active in national politics since his candidacy in the Thisted district in 2002.

Over the years, Schack Pedersen has held a wide range of parliamentary spokesperson roles, including in telecommunications, fiscal affairs, trade and industry, economy and finance, and immigration and integration. He has also served as vice-chairman of both the Finance Committee and the Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Committee. On 29 August 2024, he was appointed Minister for Resilience and Preparedness.

Schack Pedersen holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Copenhagen (2004) and graduated from North-west Jutland Higher Commercial School in Thisted in 1995. His career reflects a consistent focus on economic, trade, and societal issues, with a strong profile in both parliamentary committee work and governmental responsibility.

Married to fellow MP Louise Schack Elholm, he is the father of two children, Daniel and Sofie.
