Victor Grigorescu

Minister of Energy (2015-2017), Romania

Former Minister of Energy of Romania. He was Romania's Minister of Energy between October 2015 to January 2017. A former member of the Board of Electrica, Romania's largest electricity distribution company, he also has a background in diplomacy and international relations, having served at the Permanent Representation of Romania at the EU (2007-2011) as an expert on the EU's trade policy. He also took an active part in Romania's accession negotiations to the EU during 2004-2007.

Victor Grigorescu published various articles on public policy and international relations and has co-authored several works on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.

At present, he is a consultant in the energy sector, having advised governments in the CEE and Caucasus region with regard to energy policy aspects, including security of supply. He is also advising energy companies on the best ways to define strategies that respond to current and future market challenges. In recent years, he has been advising key player in the renewable energy sector, in Romanian as well as in the region.
