Zhanna Nemtsova is the co-founder of the Boris Nemtsov Foundation for Freedom and codirector of the Boris Nemtsov Academic Centre for the Study of Russia at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University (Prague, Czechia).
In early October 2024, she assumed the position of the Director of Grants and a member of the Grant Allocation Committee at the FDLV, a US-based nonprofit organization that provides grants to Rusisan-language media organizations.
She has over nine years of experience building from scratch and running educational and socially impactful projects, including the MA program "Russian Studies - Boris Nemtsov Educational program" accredited at Charles University. From 2015 to 2020, Zhanna reported on world political affairs and hosted the Russian-language television program, “Nemtsova. Interview,” at Deutsche Welle, the German public broadcaster.
Previously, she worked for RBC, a privately-owned Russian business television network, covering financial markets and interviewing top politicians and leading economists. She was the co-host and the executive producer of Another Russia, a narrative podcast produced by Crooked Media.
