About WSF

Warsaw Security Forum

Bringing together heads of states and governments, ministers, parliamentarians, senior EU and NATO officials, military leaders, and influential voices from business, media, academia, and civil society, the Warsaw Security Forum offers year-round, multi-dimensional formats of engagement, in an effort to shape allied responses to urgent security challenges.

Located on NATO’s Eastern Flank, in Poland, the Warsaw Security Forum activities are guided by the spirit of the “Warsaw Rule” – where direct and candid conversations among allied states replace diplomatic ambiguity to foster trust and meaningful political and security cooperation.

WSF Annual Gathering

Held since 2014 in Warsaw, the WSF Annual Gathering is one of the leading international security conferences, attracting each year more than 3,000 participants, over 40 governmental delegations, and representatives from 90+ countries.

By combining plenary debates, exclusive roundtables, and closed-door bilateral diplomacy, the Warsaw Security Forum holds discussions across four core policy areas – foreign policy, defence, energy, and resilience – helping to strengthen European and transatlantic coordination.

The Annual Gathering also hosts:

  • the Knight of Freedom Award Ceremony, recognizing contributions to democracy and freedom;
  • the New Security Leaders Program, supporting emerging policy experts and leaders;
  • the Women in International Security Annual Breakfast, promoting greater gender balance in security debates.

Other WSF Formats

WSF Strategic Dialogues held alongside major international summits and in key bilateral settings, these highly exclusive, Chatham House Rule discussions convene up to 40 senior decision-makers, military leaders, and policy experts for candid exchange that helps align national interests and translate political intent into coordinated European and transatlantic action.

WSF Public Dialogues as high-profile events, they bring together experts, policymakers, and opinion leaders to broaden engagement in transatlantic and European security debates. By connecting decision-makers with wider audiences, they promote democratic dialogue, strengthen societal resilience, and help shape a shared security narrative.

Parliamentary Diplomacy engagements and strategic missions to capitals around the world, WSF acts as a catalyst for political coordination among democratic nations. By fostering direct dialogue among lawmakers and political leaders, the Forum helps strengthen international partnerships and reinforce the cohesion of the transatlantic alliance.

WSF Annual Report serves as a flagship advocacy publication presenting policy recommendations endorsed by leading voices from the WSF community. Structured around four core policy areas – Foreign Policy, Defence, Energy and Resilience – the report offers decision-makers a practical roadmap that defines strategic goals, identifies milestones, and addresses the political and institutional obstacles to collective action.

At the core of all WSF activities lies the Partner Nation initiative – a strategic alliance that anchors the Forum’s annual agenda, ensuring that its activities proactively shape the international security landscape through deep diplomatic integration.
