WIIS Poland Networking Breakfast: An Integral Part of the Warsaw Security Forum

The Networking Breakfast, hosted by Women in International Security Poland (WIIS Poland) — in collaboration with the European Academy of Diplomacy, and the Casimir Pulaski Foundation — has become an essential part of the Warsaw Security Forum (WSF).

This unique initiative aims to support and promote women’s leadership and representation in the fields of international security, defense, and diplomacy, providing a platform for substantive debates, building valuable relationships, and strengthening their influence in the global security sector.

During the 10th edition of WSF in 2023, guests such as Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, Þórdís Kolbrún R. Gylfadóttir, and Kajsa Ollongren shared their experiences and perspectives on leadership in the security sector. The event also marked the official closing of the Young Female Leaders in STEM Mentoring Program, during which participants were awarded their diplomas.

The 2024 edition, held during the 11th Warsaw Security Forum, featured a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Anna Luhrmann, Catherine Ashton, and Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka. Moderated by prof. Katarzyna Pisarska, the discussion fostered a dynamic atmosphere that encouraged meaningful exchanges between mentees and mentors from the 2023-2024 Young Female Leaders in Security Mentoring Program.

The WIIS Poland Networking Breakfast has now become a powerful symbol of women’s empowerment and leadership within international security, inspiring the next generation of female leaders while promoting greater diversity and inclusion in the sector.
