A Norwegian energy executive and engineer who serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Equinor, a position held since November 2020.
His corporate management career at Equinor began in 1997, leading to executive leadership appointments starting in 2007. His executive roles include serving as Chief Procurement Officer (2007–2010), Senior Vice President for Projects (2010–2015), Chief Operating Officer (2015–2016), Country Manager and Head of Operations in Brazil (2017–2018), and Executive Vice President for Technology, Projects, and Drilling (2018–2020).
Under his executive direction, the company manages energy operations as Europe's largest supplier of piped natural gas and crude oil, alongside expanding enterprise initiatives in low-carbon energy infrastructure and energy transition solutions.
