Her institutional career includes serving as Secretary General of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, where she leads the secretariat, directs policy operations, and acts as principal strategic advisor to Assembly leadership. She previously served as Director of Policy Planning in the Office of the NATO Secretary General (2018–2025). Her academic and research appointments include Associate Researcher at the Centre for Security, Diplomacy and Strategy (CSDS) at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Visiting Professor at the College of Europe, Senior Fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute, and prior research roles at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) and West Point. She is the author of Armed Political Organizations: From Conflict to Integration and a widely published contributor to academic journals and international media.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Oriental Studies from the University of Bologna, alongside a Master’s degree and Ph.D. in International Relations from The Fletcher School at Tufts University.
