An American defense policy expert, executive, and author who serves as President and Chief Strategy Officer at Anduril Industries.
In his corporate executive capacity, he leads core growth functions, including corporate strategy, business development, government relations, communications, and international expansion. His career in public service and national security includes serving as Staff Director of the Senate Armed Services Committee (2014–2018), where he managed committee staff and oversaw policy, programs, and resource allocation for the Department of Defense. From 2009 to 2014, he served as senior policy adviser to Senator John McCain, supporting work across the Senate Armed Services, Intelligence, and Foreign Relations Committees.
His earlier government career includes serving as policy adviser and chief speechwriter to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice (2005–2008) within the Policy Planning Staff, as well as speechwriter to Secretary of State Colin Powell. A visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution and a member of the Aspen Strategy Group, he is the author of The Kill Chain: Defending America in the Future of High Tech Warfare. He holds degrees in political science from Kenyon College and international economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
