A national security analyst and former intelligence officer who serves as Vice Chair of the America First Policy Institute (AFPI).
His 25-year career in public service includes serving as National Security Council Chief of Staff, along with national security positions within the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), the Department of State, and the Senior Professional Staff of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
At AFPI, his policy focus centers on international security strategy, nonproliferation, and regional conflict resolution, including co-authoring strategic frameworks for ending the war in Ukraine alongside General Keith Kellogg. The author and editor of nine books on national security matters, his recent works include North Korea, Nuclear Brinkmanship, and the Oval Office (Texas A&M University Press, 2026).
