A Hungarian economist, lawyer, and European legislator who serves as a Member of the European Parliament within the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats.
Her leadership in European affairs includes serving as First Vice-Chair of the European Parliament's Delegation to the EU–UK Parliamentary Partnership Assembly, sitting on the Board of The Spinelli Group, and serving as a member of the Presidency of the Party of European Socialists. She previously served as Vice-President of the European Parliament.
First elected to the European Parliament in 2019 as the lead candidate for the Democratic Coalition, she secured re-election in 2024 after leading her party's electoral list. Within national politics, she led her party's shadow government and served as President of the Democratic Coalition, following a career that encompasses public administration, business, and academia.
