Her NATO career spans over two decades, currently serving as Head of the Integrated Air and Missile Defence Section in the Defence Policy and Planning Division. She previously served for 16 years as Head of the Russia and Ukraine Relations Section within the Political Affairs and Security Policy Division. Her earlier professional background includes lecturing at the American University of Rome, field analysis in Kosovo for the International Crisis Group, and policy research at the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI). She is the author and co-editor of multiple works on conflict management, global governance, and transatlantic relations.
She holds graduate degrees from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University, as well as a summa cum laude undergraduate degree from the American University of Paris. She was awarded the Knight of the Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity (2007).
