A foreign policy practitioner, strategic analyst, and think tank executive who serves as the Founder of the internet-based advocacy platform Brussels Freedom Hub.
His career in public administration, international security, and democracy promotion includes serving as Head of the Brussels office of the Free Russia Foundation, Vice President of GLOBSEC, and Head of GLOBSEC Brussels. From 2008 to 2021, he served as Policy Director of the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, the official think tank of the European People’s Party. Earlier appointments include Representative of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg to the European Union, Director of the Warsaw office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, member of the European Commission's foreign policy planning staff, and Research Fellow at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP).
He served in the military at NATO Headquarters Allied Command Operations (SHAPE) in Mons, Belgium. He holds a Master of Arts in Political Science, Economics, and Japanese Studies from the University of Bonn and completed graduate studies in international relations at the University of Southern California. His published work focuses on European integration, transatlantic security, Central and Eastern European politics, relations with Russia and China, and global democratic governance.
