He is a Hungarian politician and retired lieutenant general who has served as Minister of Defence of Hungary since 2026.
Previously, he served as Chief of the General Staff from 1 June 2021 until 27 April 2023, when President Katalin Novák relieved him of his duties. According to the President, he had fulfilled his responsibilities to the best of his knowledge and ability.
From February 2025, he served as the leading military expert of the Tisza Party.
