An experienced German politician and legal professional who currently serves as Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Defence.
His extensive legislative career in the German Bundestag spans over a decade, during which he served as a Member of Parliament and held key leadership roles within the SPD Parliamentary Group. His parliamentary work focused heavily on internal security and governance, including serving as Chairman of the SPD Parliamentary Group on Internal Affairs, leading the SPD group on the Committee for Electoral Reform, and sitting on the Parliamentary Control Panel. Earlier in his parliamentary tenure, he contributed to the Committee on Transport and Digital Infrastructure.
Prior to his national legislative duties, he gained valuable European and party-level experience as a Political Advisor to Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament, and spent nearly a decade as an organizational trainer for the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), the Social Democratic Union for Districts and Municipalities (SGK), and the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation (FES).
He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Cologne, where he completed his law studies with a focus on International and European Law, alongside coursework at the University of Hagen. In addition to his political and legal background, he is a Reserve Officer Candidate in the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr).
