Dr. Nikoloz Samkharadze is the Chairman of Foreign Relations Committee at the Parliament of Georgia. Within the scope of his current parliamentary activities, he leads the Georgian delegation at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and is the Chairman of the OSCE PA General Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions.

He is also the head of 9 parliamentary friendship groups and a member of the Political Council of the ruling party – “Georgian Dream”. Dr.Nikoloz Samkharadze takes an active part in creation of foreign policy objectives for the party as well as for the parliament. Prior to becoming a Member of Parliament, Dr. Samkharadze has worked as the Chief of Cabinet of the Speaker, managed Border Management Programmes in South Caucasus at the United Nations Development Programme and served as the national expert for the Office of the European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus. Dr. Samkharadze is full professor and leads the Master’s Program at the Command and General Staff College of the Defence Academy of Georgia.

He is the Associate Professor of Tbilisi State University and delivers courses on – EU Foreign Policy, EU Regional Policy, Ethnic Conflicts, Foreign Policy of Germany and Border Management.
