François-Xavier Bellamy

François-Xavier Bellamy was born in 1985. He specialized in philosophy after having studied literature. He was admitted to L’Ecole Normale Supérieure in 2005 and earned the agrégation de philosophie in 2008. After two inroads in ministerial staffs, he decided to devote himself to teaching philosophy at the high school level and then in preparatory post high school classes. In 2008, François-Xavier Bellamy was elected Deputy Mayor of Versailles, re-elected in 2014. Lead candidate for French Les Républicains party in the 2019 and 2024 European campaign, he is vice-chair of the EPP Group and leads its French delegation of MEP. Among other commitments, he has been a member of the European Parliament's Committee on Industry, Research and Energy since 2019.
