Andrzej Duda

Dr. Andrzej Duda, born on May 16, 1972, in Krakow, Poland, is the President of the Republic of Poland. He began his public involvement in 1984 by joining the 5th Krakow Scout Troop "Piorun," eventually becoming its leader. He attended Jan III Sobieski High School No. II in Krakow and later pursued law at the Jagiellonian University, where he earned his master's degree in 1997. After completing his studies, he embarked on an academic career at the same university, specializing in administrative law and earning a Ph.D. in 2005. Duda entered politics in 2005, becoming a legislative expert for the Law and Justice Party (PiS). He served as Deputy Minister of Justice from 2006 to 2007 and later as Undersecretary of State in the Chancellery of President Lech Kaczyński until 2010. Elected to the Krakow City Council in 2010 and then to the Sejm in 2011, he quickly rose in PiS ranks, becoming the party's spokesperson in 2013.In May 2015, Duda won the presidential election and took office on August 6, 2015. He was re-elected for a second term in July 2020, winning with 51.03% of the vote.
