Rasa Juknevičienė served as a member of Lithuanian parliament for 7th legislative terms, and she is a member of the Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats party. In 1999-2000, Juknevičienė held the position of Deputy Speaker of the Seimas.
In 2008-2012, Rasa Juknevičienė was the Minister of National Defense of Lithuania. Afterwards, she was a President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (2018).
Since 2014, Juknevičienė is a member of an Advisory Council of the Center for European Policy Analysis.
Before before pursuing her career in politics, she graduated the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and worked as a doctor until 1992.
Juknevičienė had been member of the Lithuanian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly since 1999. She served as Rapporteur of the Political Committee from 2007 to 2008, from 2014 to 2015, and as General Rapporteur from 2016 to 2018.
