Maj. Gen. Maciej Klisz, born on November 29, 1972, in Krakow, is a Polish Army Major General. He has held key positions, including Chief of Staff of the 1st Special Forces Regiment (2005–2006) and Chief of Staff of the Special Forces Unit (2012–2016). A graduate of the US Army War College in 2020, Klisz was appointed Commander of the Territorial Defense Forces in February 2023 and became Operational Commander of the Polish Armed Forces on October 10, 2023. He has extensive experience in special operations and NATO missions, including service in Bosnia, Herzegovina, and Afghanistan.
