Mr Dainius Kreivys was appointed Minister of Energy of the Republic of Lithuania in December 2020. As a member of The Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats party, throughout his political career Mr Kreivys has been a devoted supporter of Lithuania’s energy independence and in his current position is actively pursuing for earlier synchronization of the Lithuanian energy system with continental Europe and rapid development of renewable energy generation in Lithuania.

Mr Kreivys actively opposed the construction of the unsafe Belarusian NPP. During his term in office, electricity trade with Belarus in Lithuania and the Baltic States has been completely cut off. Following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, Lithuania was the first country in Europe to stop importing gas from russia, and later completely stopped the import of russian energy resources.

Mr Kreivys was Minister of Economy in 2009-2011 and has been a member of the Parliament since 2012.

Mr Kreivys received EMBA from Baltic Management Institute. His professional experience background comes from C-level business management.
