Loredana Teodorescu, PhD, is the Head of European and International Affairs at Istituto Luigi Sturzo, a Rome-based foundation, and the Secretary General of the Italian chapter of Women in International Security. Additionally, she is a Research Fellow of the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies and currently the Coordinator of the Global Alliance of Regional Women Mediator Networks’ Secretariat. Her areas of research and interest focus on EU governance and policies, in particular migration and asylum, the link between internal security and external relations, EU’s foreign and neighbourhood policy, women and gender-related issues. On these topics she develops and coordinates projects, holds university lectures, participates in working groups and debates, writes analysis and advises organisations and institutions, such as the Human Rights Commission of the Italian Senate. After graduating in International Relations, she obtained a PhD in Political Science-European and International Studies at the University of Roma Tre, focusing on EU migration policy.
