Zachary Schaeffer

U.S. Army Foreign Area Officer

Captain Zachary Schaeffer is a U.S. Army Foreign Area Officer, currently assigned to the
George C. Marshall Center in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.

He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and commissioned
as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Infantry. He served in Vilseck, Germany and
deployed twice to Afghanistan, working with Afghan Security Forces.

He also deployed to Libreville, Gabon, to train African army forces for peacekeeping
operations in Central African Republic. He recently graduated with honors from the
Defense Language Institute after studying Russian for a year.
