Lisbet Zilmer-Johns has been serving as the State Secretary for Foreign Policy since 2023. Before this, she was the Director of the Danish Critical Supply Agency from 2020 to 2023. From 2019 to 2020, she held the role of Under-Secretary for Foreign Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was Head of Unit at the Centre for Global Policy and Security from 2017 to 2019. Between 2013 and 2017, Lisbet Zilmer-Johns served as the PSC Ambassador in Brussels. Prior to that, she worked as a Consultant and Head of Office in the Prime Minister’s Office from 2005 to 2013 and as Coordinator for Counter-Terrorism at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2004 to 2005. From 2002 to 2004, she was loaned to the Danish Institute for International Studies. Earlier in her career, she served as Head of Unit and Board Secretary in the Department for Security Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1997-2001), Secretary of Embassy in Buenos Aires (1995-1997), and Head of Section at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1992-1995). She holds an MSc in Political Science from the University of Copenhagen (1992) and an MSc from the London School of Economics (1991).
