WSF International Advisory Council’s meeting

  • Published: May 20, 2022

On the 19th of May the International Advisory Council met online to further the Warsaw Security Forum program development.

Baroness Catherine Ashton, General David Petraeus, Minister Norbert Roettgen, Minister Linas Linkevicius, Minister Jacek Czaputowicz, Hanna Hopko and the WSF organizing committee discussed the agenda of the upcoming ninth edition of the Warsaw Security Forum in light of the current geopolitical situation. Discussions revolved around the Russian aggression on Ukraine and its implications for European safety and security; the western world's support for Ukraine; the roles of international organizations and institutions in support of the resolution of the conflict and finally the steps that will have to be taken after the end of the war to rebuild Ukraine.

Previous meetings were organized before the war, hence the need to address the current situation and properly adjust the shape and scope of the conference to best address the mission of the Forum - to focus on elaborating shared responses to common transatlantic security challenges. The next meeting of the Council will be organized in October - during the Warsaw Security Forum.
